We were lucky enough to celebrate with a couple of young recruits who are doing their basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, here is San Antonio. Pepe stayed cooking up a storm while Sebastian and I went to pick up the soldiers first thing in the morning. They were so grateful to get out of the base and change their routine they kept telling us thank you. Ian is from Boston and the Ian is from New Hampshire. When we got to the house, I handed them our cell phones so they could call their families and they rested until we ate at 12:30 in the afternoon. This year we did things a little different, we made homemade sweet potato dessert, homemade cranberry sauce, and homemade stuffing. My grandmother gave me her recipe for stuffing and it calls for over 12 items. It was delicious. We were so stuffed. When we got done, they went in to Sebastian's room and laid down and rested while talking to their families, then I took them in some Chocolate covered strawberries and pretzel rods. We finally got together and played piano and talked for about two hours then it was time for them to go home. The kids really liked them so they were sad to see them go. They invited us to their graduation so hopefully we are going to make it to that on January 2ND.
